The company manufactures its products in a modern, purpose built facility located in Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty. Melba Foods has a strong focus on food safety and occupational health and safety. The company employs a Quality Assurance Co-ordinator who ensures all standards match those of our parent company, Priestley’s Gourmet Delights.

The History

Melba Foods was New Zealand's first frozen dessert manufacturer, established in 1984. Melba Foods also contract manufactures to some well known retail brands and has exported to the Japanese market.
In November 2006 the company was acquired by Priestley Gourmet Delights, a Brisbane Australia based cake and dessert manufacturer. Remarkably similar to Melba Foods in terms of its origins and product range, the acquisition provides Melba Foods with support, synergies and a shared customer base of trans-Tasman key account customers.
